Our goal at Freedom Paws Service Dogs is to bring independence back to a Veteran or First Responder who’s lives have been forever changed by a tragic event or events. Our dogs are trained to assist their warrior in mitigating life’s obstacles. We tailor each dogs training according to the veteran or first responders needs. We have opted to purchase our puppies from select breeders who have a proven track record of breeding quality Labradors. Freedom Paws Service Dogs relies on public and private donations to ensure we are able to produce the highest quality service dogs.

We are currently 501(c)(3) pending.

Teresa and Corey

Hello, my name is Corey James. I spent over 15 years in the U.S. military serving our great nation. I have been on numerous deployments and spent a year in South Korea. I am rated by the Department of Veterans Affairs as a 100% disabled veteran. It is my goal to ensure we are helping our Veterans and First Responders who suffer from PTSD by placing them with a quality service dog. My wife and business partner, Teresa James, has been training dogs for as long as I can remember. She spent three years volunteering her time training and fostering for Leader Dogs for the Blind. Most recently, she has volunteered her time fostering dogs for Foster Pet Outreach. Her love for training dogs is unparalleled.

Nick and K9 Dark

I have been a police officer in the City of Chillicothe since 2008. I currently am a Sergeant and have been a K9 handler since 2010. I love volunteering and the opportunity to help veterans and first responders all while being around amazing dogs is too great of an opportunity to pass up. I currently have a all black German Shepherd Dog, K9 Dark. I help Freedom Paws run their website, social media pages, and fundraising.
